As part of our Healthy Snack Program at Roseland, Jumpstart Ontario sponsors a special day they have named The Big Crunch! On this day, schools are provided with fresh, local apples for every student. This past Thursday, October 23, our principal led the school in a countdown over the PA system to a big group crunch into delicious juicy apples. This day is to celebrate healthy eating and bring awareness to the importance of nutrition in student success. Besides the big crunch, we also celebrated by making applesauce and apple tarts as well as reading apple books, singing apple songs and making apple prints with paint. What a great day! Thank you to our special volunteers that helped to make this day a success!
