Exploring Coconuts

Over the past few weeks, we have had coconuts in our sand table to go with the theme of "CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM" ...a book about alphabet letters climbing up the coconut tree.  The coconuts have been tossed around, tapped on and dropped a few times.  As a result, one of the coconuts cracked and milk came seeping through.  The children were interested in seeing and tasting what was inside.  We brought some shredded coconut to class as well as some coconut water.  Many children had never tried it before but really wanted to find out what it tasted like!!!

The results of our survey: many who tried it really enjoyed it!

IT IS SO EXCITING TO TRY NEW THINGS!!!!!!!
