We are continuing to be interested in different types of seeds we find outside and in our snacks and lunches. We have also discussed the different stages of a bean plant: seed with roots, sprout, sprout with leaves, full leaves, beans! We are still waiting patiently for our beanstalks to grow as we provide them with sunshine and water everyday!
After our daffodil blooms had finished and our leaves were beginning to droop, we decided to dig them up to find out what a daffodil seed looked like.
We found out that daffodil seeds are big bulbs.
One student asked, "If we plant these again, will more daffodils bloom?"
Let's try it next week!
Our new LEADER OF THE DAY activity is already a hit!
Each child is being asked to show the class one thing that they can do and then teach it to the class. We began with us showing the children something we can do.
Mrs. Grierson can hand jive.
So can we!
Mrs. Fard can play "ping pong" alone.
So can we!

"I bounced it 10 times!"
Your child's leader form will come home the week before. Your child can begin to choose now what they would like to do and practice it and rehearse how they will "teach" the class
We are excited to learn many new skills this month!
Still loving all the good food!
Not only is it good for them.....they kids are excited to eat nutritious snacks! Thank you again to the snack program at our school and to parents for providing their children with nutritious food so they can grow, learn and play their best everyday. It is a lot of work to put together good lunches (lots of chopping and portioning) but it is well worth the work when you consider how important it is to the wellbeing of your child.
Some of the foods the children really seem to like are hummus and veggies, tortillas and cream cheese, applesauce and graham crackers, crackers and cheese (unprocessed), Multigrain Cheerios, Chex cereal, apples, oranges, plums, grapes, pears, melon, red peppers, carrots, cucumbers and snap peas. We sometimes provide ranch dressing with the veggies that the children enjoy.

Big smiles for healthy food!
